My Mission

My Mission

Having self acceptance doesn't mean you don't have insecurities or worry about certain things. Or care what other people think. To me, it means that you just won't change something about yourself because someone else doesn't like it, or thinks you should. It's about saying out loud "you know what, I'm not perfect and that's ok. But I like myself and so do my friends and family. So if you don't, that's your choice"

I want to start out by letting anyone who doesn't know my well, know that I am a pretty matter of fact person. I tend to say what's on my mind. And I tend to give you my opinion about whatever conversation we are in the middle of. Sometimes I also forget that people are more sensitive than I am and take things that other people say personally. My opinions are just that, my thoughts. It, in no means whatsoever, means I am right about said opinion or that I am speaking directly to whoever has a different opinion. Or that your opinion/thoughts are wrong because they might differ from mine. I sometimes hurt people's feelings because I am sarcastic and opinionated. I never ever intend to hurt anyone's feelings about anything I say. Ever. I never profess to be smarter than anyone else or more knowledgable about anything. I am just here being me and trying to create pretty jewelry that helps you accept who you are as a person and like yourself first.

So with all of that out of the way. My mission for this company is to inspire woman to care less about what other people think of them. To accept themselves as a whole person with flaws. No one is perfect. As women we spend so much time beating ourselves up for little stupid things, that sometimes are completely out of our control. That needs to stop. Now.

Self Acceptance according to the dictionary  is -

: the act or state of accepting oneself : the act or state of understanding and recognizing one's own abilities and limitations

According to Wikipedia -

It's the awareness of one's strengths and weaknesses. But I think it goes even further than that. It's awareness of them, but it really about understanding each of them and accepting that they are part of you. You can choose to improve some of  your weaknesses if you want, but that it's your choice. Don't ever let someone else tell you you should act, say, do, whatever differently because they think you should.

It's about trying new things, knowing you mess up or you might not be good at it but trying it anyway. It's about being silly in public knowing that you'll never see those people ,looking at you funny, again. Because it just might be fun or the best thing you ever did. It's about wearing some outrageous piece of fashion that you absolutely love, even though no one does. And wearing it with pride because it makes you happy.

Self Acceptance = Happiness as far as I'm concerned. When you let go of things you can't control and open your mind to the fact that people, your friends, family, coworkers, do like even love you. They chose to be around you, they accept you as you are. You should too.

Self acceptance is fluid though, it's ok to not feel it every single second of every single day. It's ok to be nervous or scared. But self acceptance helps you not be frozen is that fear. It helps you step out of your comfort zone and go for it. Regardless of the outcome.

Give yourself credit for all the good parts of you. Are you kind, smart, funny, loyal, generous, a math wiz? Then shout that from the rooftops until you believe it.

These three women are perfect examples of women who are not afraid to be themselves always. They don't pretend anything to fit into Hollywood's idea of perfect women. They live their lives their way and don't apologize for it.

As any mother knows, it's hard to wear jewelry when you have babies or toddlers. But as my kids were growing I was ready to start dressing like an adult again. I quickly realized that I wasn't seeing affordable jewelry that I loved out there, so I made jewelry that I loved, and that showed off my love for minimalist style. Simple, easy and comfortable. That's the type of jewelry I want to wear and create. I wanted to easily grab a piece of jewelry that pulls my outfit together and gets me out the door faster so I have more time to focus on other things.

When you put on a piece of THD jewelry I want it to scream to you, that you are fabulous. I want you to smile, because you believe it too!

Go conquer your world, one day at a time.
